Western Astrology Analogy

Your adult number is the first number in a series of three which make up your Nine Star Ki (Feng Shui Astrology) numbers. The adult number is also referred to as your principal number. The second Feng Shui Astrology number is your childhood number and the third one being your first impressions number. The adult number can be taken as being closest to the Western Astology Sun sign and is also referred to as your constitutional number.

How to determine your adult number


For Nine Star Ki, all years begin on February the 4th and end the following year on February 3rd. If you were born between the 1st January and the 3rd February this means that your year of birth is that of the preceeding year.

 

 

Formula 1


If you were born in the 20th century (and at the time of writing - 2004, it is quite likely you were ;-), then you can ignore the first 2 digits of the year (i.e. 19).
  1. Add up the last 2 digits
  2. If their sum is less than 10 then subtract from 10 to give the year number.
  3. If not, add the new 2 digits (i.e. >10)together and subtract the total from 10 to give the year number.

Here are some examples:
1963
6 + 3 = 910 - 9 = 1 Water

1970
7 + 0 = 710 - 7 = 3 Tree

1967
6 + 7 = 131 + 3 = 410 - 4 = 6 Metal

 

Formula 2


This method works for any year:
  1. Add up all the digits for the given year.
  2. Add the digits of the total (if required) until a total of 10 or below is reached.
  3. Now subtract the number from 11 to give the adult / principal year.

For example:
1999Step 1: 1 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 28

Step 2: 2 + 8 = 10

Step 3: 11 - 10 = 1 Water
